Relaxed. Rested. Ready for another week. After spending an absolutely superb weekend at Palmar beach with the majority of the Kalu Yala team, I’m ready to get back to the daily grind.

Tuesday night, Kalu Yala got a visit from our new friends Kassidy and Ryan Browning, a brother and sister team native to Nashville TN, who are the creators of Journey of Action. Check out their website here. Journey of Action is a project that Kassidy and Ryan have been working on for about two years now, they host and produce webisodes for their website highlighting some of the unsung heroes of our generation who are working to make a positive impact on the world.  Kassidy and Ryan were both such troopers, they were only in Panama for all of 18 hours but decided to come out and see what Kalu Yala is all about. Anne Walker brought Kassidy and Ryan directly from the airport to Hispania Tuesday night and we were soon joined by Ellie Schwing, Jimmy Stice, Sarah Tyler and Stuart Hoooper. We went down to a local Mediterranean style restaurant, Habbibis, for a late dinner before they woke up a 6:00 am the next morning to make it down to the valley before Kassidy and Ryan’s 3:00 pm flight to South America – a busy schedule to say the least!

Check out their Latin American Promo Video…

Kassidy and Ryan have been on a trip from Alaska to Argentina highlighting different organizations.

Here’s just one of the great example that Journey of Action has covered called Krochet Kids – they are striving to empower women in third world countries, Uganda specifically, with yarn and needle …. So not only is it a superb cause that is providing women with independence and a hopeful future – but their products are awesome too! I am definitely going to be ordering some when I get back to the States.

It was really inspiring to speak with Kassidy and Ryan because as much as they are highlighting the people who are changing the world – they too are making a significant change. As our very own Jimmy Stice likes to say, ” If a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, does it matter?” Kassidy and Ryan decided there was a lack of intelligent and meaningful content to for interested viewers and from that small idea have created an entire organization that is now opening many peoples’ minds to new and even small ways in which someone can make an impact. They are spreading the word to a new audience by offering this content online and in an interesting format. We only got to hear a small snippet of the countless stories that I know they have from their adventures and I will definitely plan on following them as they continue into South America…
